January wrap up

I’m prepared for the end of the month, this never happens. I’ve planned and prepared and here we are! January personally is a bad month for me, but I got a lot of reading done. I managed 5 books which is pretty absurd for me, but hopefully this sign that I’ll start as I mean to go on.

I had a lot of free time to read this month as I started the year by tearing the ligaments in my ankle and getting a small flake fracture – which meant I got 10 days off work. So I got a good amount of reading done in that time, holed up in bed not really allowed to walk about!

So this month I read:

WHAT FRESH HELL – 3 stars | THE HORSE AND HIS BOY – 4 stars | THE HUMANS – 4 stars

TRUTHWITCH – 4 stars | THE FURIES – 4 stars

I love branching out between genres, hopping from adult fiction, to fantasy to psychological thriller. I’m entirely a mood reader so I never fancy a book teh same genre as the last I’ve read. The Humans by Matt Haig was definitely my favourite read of the month – definitely an contemplative look at what it means to be human. I would definite recommend picking it up if you’re interested in a look into the human pysche.

Otherwise, in my life I’ve just been recovering from my torn ligaments and slowly but surely sorting out the house, putting our own stamp on it. Slowly catching up on my reading, slowly catching up on my blog. Eventually it’ll all fall into place!

In other media I’ve started watching Hannibal and it is dark and twisted and oh so interesting, I can’t stress how much you should watch this if you’re into crime series or serial killers, or the books by Thomas Harris!
I’m so close to the end of The Vampire Diaries, sadly in season 8 it definitely feels like I’m dragging myself to the end. It definitely should’ve wrapped up around season 6 time. But only 8 episodes left – I can make it guys. Stay tuned next month for when hopefully, I’ll have finally finished it.

What were your January highlights? Let me know, let’s chat 🙂
